Trump is Pure American Karma

I have a friend I no longer talk to because she became a Trump supporter. But some time ago, we sat in front of a TV set watching the World Trade Center tower collapse. She stared at the TV in silence and said very gravely. “This is pure and simple American people’s Karma.”

I have no idea how a leftist, brilliant political animal could become a Trump supporter. But there are several other examples, and everyone who knows one is puzzled. And maybe that has a lot to do with why we’re in such trouble. But let’s go back to karma.

Karma is a concept with a few definitions, specifically in Hinduism and Buddhism. The common sayings “what goes around comes around” and “what you sow is what you reap” are great examples of how karma works.

Maybe you don’t believe in Karma. But at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter if you do or don’t. If you jump out of a building, you’ll fall to your death. And karma couldn’t care less whether you believe it or not. It is simple cause and effect, an immutable law of our universe.
