The Great American Choice

Whatever will happen is already there

I try not to think too much about the consequences of America’s choice this November, but only because I need to sleep. However, the impact of this choice of leadership and the path forward will affect millions of lives, including mine.

I think of why. Why would Americans choose such a dark path? Why would Americans choose authoritarianism? And obviously, it is not because they don’t know what’s coming. People know very well the path they are about to choose if they go that way. They want it for another reason, one I can’t quite figure out but only guess. The writing is on the wall.

I don’t believe for one moment that people who are voting for T**** don’t know what’s up. They know that he will bring chaos, violence, disruption, social unrest, and economic distress. And the only way to understand this is that, in the end, people want that. They have grievances and want to see the circus on fire. They want to see destruction because they see it as a way to get back at something they don’t like. It is anger for the anger.

We can’t no longer rely on our powerful enthusiasm for Kamala and what the pools are telling us. We have Hillary to thank for that. Nothing is safe. This could really happen here; we have learned this lesson well. That makes thinking more intense…
