Here’s Why we Must Boycott Apple, too
Spider-Man once said, “With great power comes great responsibility.”
Of all tech billionaires, watching Tim Cook kiss poopy diapers’ ring at his coronation was the most disappointing of them all. A treasonous act against the Apple progressive community and for democracy, which made Apple the economic powerhouse it is today.
Many of us came to love Apple. Elegance, sophistication, and a commitment to intelligence and style. That was Apple’s enormous appeal, driven by a clever publicity strategy that shaped the mind of a generation almost to a cult-like level.
But that was in the beginning, while Steve Jobs was still at the steering wheel; today, the story is quite another. Some of the old appeal remains, but the spectacular success of the iPhone changed everything for Apple’s ecosystem. What used to be a small and eclectic community is now the world’s largest company, with a market cap of $3.17 trillion. But as Spider-Man once said: “With great power comes great responsibility.”
I stopped buying Apple in the late 1990s, when iPhones had not been invented. I made the switch to the PC dark side because…Well, I was broke, and I realized I was paying more to use a computer that did less.
