If you are not convinced the United States will become an autocratic state by now, you are seriously in denial, or you live under a rock or both.

The hostile and unpopular rulings on abortion, gun laws, and EPA regulations should give you a good idea of what's coming down the pike. In addition, we might be in for a bitter surprise as our corrupt ex-president get away with being the biggest traitor in American history as our toothless judicial system and Congress miserably fail to indict and prosecute him. Or even make it impossible for him to ever run for office again. It remains to be seen.

He tempers with witnesses and does pretty much whatever he wants unchallenged. He might run again for president and, God forbid, takes over the presidency again, and again.

What we are witnessing is the fruition of decades of preparations, lobbying, and gerrymandering from a right that is now far-right and ready to take over everything and deliver government and church right to your living room. All sorts of political maneuvering from the one percent have been successful in delivering authoritarianism in America. My friends, we are there.

Supreme justices are working around the clock to remove as many freedoms as they see necessary to fulfill their far-right agenda. We now realize that America is no longer the country you thought you were living in. And the question is: what are we going to do about it? Can we do anything about it?

And that brings half the country to a political head of the roads. Three roads start from the circle. The first road is the "I'm getting the hell out of here" road. Follow this road to get out of the country. You can take that road and move to the country of your preference. Europe looks excellent; maybe Canada suits you. And although this road sounds enticing, it comes with a series of problems and costs you might not be aware of. And most people can't ever take this road at all. This is the road of the grass is always greener.
