Why Some People are Above the Law
No matter what you think or desire
But the worst part of realizing some are above the law, and the most humiliating to our collective intelligence is that the above-the-law is a loser. This should worry us all. What does that say about the most powerful nation in the world and its citizens? But it hurts even more when we see our hard-earned money working to protect the corrupt. Even knowing some corruption always existed.
And I don’t know if I can express my indignation because there are so many layers. And I’m not claiming to be perfect while being part of the imperfect and knowing about all the pillages, massacres, and dirty wars conducted with my tax dollars. We are terrible. But amidst all the dirty work, there is a spirit of justice that should remain attached to our human dignity and the life we like to live or believe we have in this US of A.
The spirit of justice is what matters in the end. Because we know corruption is part of the game. Politics are dirty by nature because they represent the ugly struggle to survive. But politics can still aim at justice, fairness, and honesty, at least as an attempt. If we don’t, we arrive at the land of Lard Ass. And we still don’t know where we stand.
We arrive at his ugly destination when we collectively accept and agree that some individuals are above the law. They can cheat, lie, and embezzle, facing no consequence. But wait, there’s more.
Remember when crooks only got in trouble by committing tax fraud? No mas. On top of being unfair to Al Capone, lard ass cheats and walks free while U.S. taxpayers foot the bill to protect the jerk, all done legally by our all-powerful IRS. And making all our dads turn on their graves. Isn’t that beautiful? But Lard Ass has added much more insult to injury.
Let’s look at a different angle. We bomb the crap of poor, destitute countries and spend earnest money and energy on a democratic moral crusade, but we don’t have the muscle to eliminate those who have clearly broken the law. But breaking the law is the understatement of the year. Let’s check.
Remember when Tom Cruise had to risk his life to dodge the multi-layered alarm trap to steal top secret documents? How dated could the glorified vision of the American tech-loving criminal hero be? Welcome to your new and improved America; Lard Ass walks away with boxes and more boxes of those same documents in broad daylight: no alarm, no protest, nothing. No one says a thing. (and Lard Ass doesn’t even look as good as Tom Cruise in the 90s).
But before he walked away with the Tom Cruise top secret docs, he had himself a little coup d’etat.
And it looks like coup d’etat 101 with all bells and whistles. The only thing missing was the big banner at the stage where one could read in giant letters, “COUP D’ETAT,” and that was only because the torch & pitchfork crowd would not understand what that meant. The revolt happened without suppression because…well, I have no idea why. Probably for the same reasons Lard Ass can miraculously walk away with the Tom Cruise top secret documents, and no one sees. All of this is very curious.
Because in the end, I know, and you know, charges to Lard Ass will all end up in a cake of disillusionment, covered by a frosting of nothing. And yes, I wish, and you wish, that what has been written here is false, but I know, and you know, this might not be the case. What happened to us? Why do we seem paralyzed by Lard Ass?
And there is a collective schizophrenic perception of this situation that becomes increasingly uncomfortable. The compounded awkwardness comes from, on one side, realizing the plethora of mounting evidence and foul play and, on the other, a fruitless march of time revealing nothing has yet happened and might never do. No real teeth action is noted. Only investigation committees and political tribunals. Fluff, fluff, fluff. The harder we bet, the harder our disappointment will be.
And because Lard Ass is the gift that keeps giving, he comes to us with a purpose. To show us we don’t live in a democracy as flowery and fragrant as we might wish to think. I want to see vast improvement here.
Because if we don’t, we’ll have to conclude some people are indeed above the law. Yes, some people are above the law. Who are we fooling? Power is power, and we still have kings and queens. The only difference is that we should stop lying to ourselves, so at least we’ll be more dignified.
We would be much happier to accept and move on. Why waste our time and energy? The wannabe dicktator of America has proved he has somehow constructed a reality of his own and made it stick by using the pure art of persuasion. And I hope Jack Smith knows his shit.
